Artist Bio:

I was raised "Glendive tough" on the gumbo soil of a ranch where aesthetics was not a priority; it took a long time for this artist to become myself. In second grade I was forced to memorize one poem, since forgotten; but I did not enjoy poetry until I began to write it, a the age of forty, after being hospitalized for bi-polar disorder. Writing poetry about mental illness helped me make some sense of the inexplicable. 

During my last bi-polar mania, I often created dozens of "Post Secrets" daily, so many in fact I started referring to them as "Pest Secrets". I made color copies of my favorites, and began to think of them as a form of art. My approach is to find art in everyday life and to put a twist on it. Quirky, thought provoking, ironic, humorous or colorful: somehow, I try to make each creation uniquely my own. 

I am also grateful to the visitors who take the time to read this bio and view my work. I hope it makes you smile, or think or just pause in your day. Like beauty, art is in the eye of the beholder, and if we look, we can find some in every single day.
